Livable West Side Festival
If you have not seen the Livable West Side Festival, you are missing out! This annual festival takes place on the west side of Broadway between 72nd and 86th Streets. Many of the streets in the neighborhood will be closed from 11a to 5p. While most of us are off for Memorial Day, you can still get out and enjoy the festivities! The Greenpoint Terminal Market is an outdoor flea market on the waterfront with a view of the Manhattan skyline. This popular flea market will return on May 1, this year with expanded programming and a kid’s area. Find local art and design, fresh fashion, antiques, and more at this event. You can also sample a wide range of international foods and drink while you shop! To avoid the long lines, get there early: the Livable West Side Festival has free admission!
The 60th Street Central Park Spring Fling is a spring street festival taking place on Sunday, April 15. The festival takes place along 60th Street from 5th Avenue to Madison Avenue. The 28th Annual Broadway Street Festival takes place on the East side of Broadway between 96th and 106th Street. During the Livable West Side Festival, you can enjoy live music and art installations. You can also enjoy food and drinks at the Livable West Side Festival.
There are four different festivals throughout the area. The Flatbush St street fair takes place between Coney Island Ave and Argyle Road. In Brooklyn, the St. Nicholas Ave street fair takes place between 181st and 188th Streets. The Flatbush Avenue street fair takes place between Parkside Ave and Cortelyou Rd. All of these street festivals are great ways to get to know the area better.
Woodstock Art & Crafts Fair
The Woodstock Art & Crafts Fair began in 1981 as a traveling craft show featuring hundreds of juried artists. By 1981, Neil and Scott had become fathers and wanted to continue to promote their craft while supporting their families. This is where the idea for a craft show was born. The artists and craftsmen who participate in the fair are the heart of the show. This festival celebrates the art and craft of many genres, including paintings, jewelry, woodworking, and ceramics.
The Woodstock-New Paltz Arts and Crafts Fair takes place at the Ulster County Fairgrounds in New Paltz on Labor Day weekend. The event will showcase the work of nearly 300 independent artists. During the fair, visitors can purchase artwork and handmade goods from over 300 vendors. The Woodstock Art & Crafts Fair is the premier arts and crafts fair in the Hudson Valley. The event is held every year on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
The Woodstock Art & Crafts Fair was on the verge of announcing that it would move to the Ulster County Fairground in New Paltz, just south of Woodstock. The new location is located in an artsy college town, about 1.5 hours north of New York City. The Woodstock Art & Crafts Fair is expected to draw thousands of people. In addition to crafts, the fair will feature food, entertainment, and live music.
